It’s been a while since the OxIS 2011 Report has been published. But hey, it’s never too late to show you some pictures from the Launch! We want to take you back to October 2011. It was a cloudy Monday afternoon when the group of OII-ers led by Professor Bill Dutton and Dr Grant Blank headed down to London to present the latest insight on the Internet use in Britain. The launch was held in the stunning House of Commons in Westminster. Our arrival was marked by heavy suitcases of freshly-printed reports:

We settled in the Strangers Dining Room, set up the room and made sure everything was ready for the arrival of the expected guests.

In the meantime Dr Grant Blank was tweaking the last details of his speech.

And then, our first guests started to arrive. We welcomed them with some delicious snacks and refreshments. Below: Dr Peter Gradwell, Nominet Trust, Trustee; Dan Sutch, Nominet Trust Head of Development Research; Dr Grant Blank, Oxford Internet Institute.

The Rt Hon Alun Michael MP was the first one to address the audience and opened the OxIS Report Launch. He recognized the importance of such research endeavours for policy makers. Below: Dr Grant Blank, OII; Alun Michael, MP; Professor Bill Dutton, OII.

Next, Professor Bill Dutton and Dr Grant Blank, authors of the report, presented the background of the Oxford Internet Surveys and presented the crucial findings of the 2011 report.

Our sponsors also reflected on the work the OII has been doing in the area of the Internet adoption and use in the UK. Below: Annika Small, Nominet Trust, Director.
