Knowledge Base guidelines

How do I contribute / Add an article / Add a comment?

  • In order to comment on, or add a new article to the Toolkit, you need to have an account for this website.
  • Once you've logged in, you should be able to see "Add New Article" under the Knowledge Base menu. This will enable you to submit an entry which will then be moderated by our administrative team. On successful approval, your article will then appear in the "Toolkit Areas".

How do I browse / view existing entries?

  • Searching - our search function searches by keyword, but can also be narrowed down to article type, whether it falls under a specific quantative / qualitative method, and by content type; to search just the Toolkit articles, select "Knowledge Base Article".
  • Browsing by Area - select any of the items in the "Toolkit Areas" menu to view paged results of approved articles.
  • Filter  - Filter entries by Article Type and/or Method: includes non-approved articles.
  • Moderation & tracking - Show article activity since your last login
  • Additionally, you can navigate through similar articles by clicking on related article links and areas.

 What formatting can I use?

  • The supplied editor will accept:
  • Automatically numbered footnotes by using squared bracket notation - see below the editor for useage.
  • Allowed HTML tags: <a> <em> <strong> <cite> <code> <ul> <ol> <li> <dl> <dt> <dd> <ul> <blockquote> <strong> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <ol> <p> <table> <th> <tr> <thead> <tbody> <td>: if you are unfamiliar with HTML, this isn't important, as the Rich Text Editor will automatically create these tags in the background for you.
  • Avoid copy and pasting from Word for the best results.
  • You can also upload a limited selection of files. If you feel that the current 1MB restriction is preventing you from uploading a useful article, please contact us.
